Google helps you write your IT policies
You can use the Dilbert Mission Statement Generator to draft a mission statement for your IT department or if you are willing to work a little harder, use Google to get inspiration for writing your own.
Google can help you find examples of policies to review when writing your own IT policies for email, passwords, PC and network usage, etc. Use the search results to get a broader idea of what should be included in the documents you’re creating. To cut down Google search results for your search term, use a combination of Google’s intitle:, filetype: and OR operators.
Example: intitle:computer network usage policy filetype:pdf OR filetype:doc
You can find all sorts of inspiration including policies, mission statements, service level agreements, surveys and forms.
Tip: On the results page, click the View as HTML link instead of the result titles to scan through the results faster than downloading and launching PDF and DOC files.
You can also use these operators to find interesting and useful Spreadsheet templates. Examples:
intitle:capital budget OR projects filetype:xls
intitle:risk analysis filetype:xls
