About

TechOpus LogoGreetings and welcome to techopus.com, a technology notebook.

Name: Ralph Iskaros
Location: Little Neck, New York, U.S.A.

I am an Information Technology professional currently employed at a U.S. newsweekly magazine as the Director of Application Services.

I have been using Personal Computers for almost 30 years and I think I spend almost as much time on the computer as I do away from it. So naturally, I learn new things in the process. Things that I need to write-down someplace and on occasions, share with others. Microsoft Windows software topics will dominate this notebook but occasionally you’ll also see entries for hardware products and gadgets.

Computers are not the only topic that I’ll write about. I’m now in my 40’s, ok late 40’s, and there are nuggets of wisdom that I’ve learned along the way that I’ll put in this notebook. For example, Thomas’ get English Muffins right. If and when you’re going to buy a pack of English Muffins, don’t look for anything other than Thomas’.

On rare occasions you’ll see entries in this notebook that are filed under “commentary” or “opinion”. When you see them, you know that they were burning a hole in me and I just had to get them out. I welcome your comments to entries in this notebook, no registration needed. When you’re adding a comment, please be cordial and considerate. Assume that your grandma is reading over your shoulder.

The goal of this website is not to give you a place where you can kill five minutes everyday but to illustrate tips and tricks in a style that is direct and to the point. For efficiency’s sake, I recommend that you just subscribe to the RSS feed instead of visiting the site regularly.

And there are also some Links. How can I almost forget Links? In the notebook you’ll find links to useful articles and sites I recommend.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you find something useful here.
